What’s in it?
The key ingredients in this face mask work to restore your skin’s firmness:
Glycolic Acid is made from sugar cane, pineapple, sugar beets and sour milk! Most people think that acids aren’t good for your skin, but it just means that the Ph is under 7 which are a lot of surprising things like milk. Glycolic Acid is part of the alpha-hydroxy family and is primarily an exfoliant. It only works on the top layers of your skin but encourages the bond between dead skin cells on the surface of your skin to dissolve. The skin works almost like teeth of a shark when it regenerates and so Glycolic Acid peels and other AHA’s encourage that process to happen faster. It also encourages this process to be less patchy than it can be.
“The overall quality of skin is boosted and plumping of the skin makes fine lines and wrinkles less visible. By helping to reduce oil on the skin, it also reduces the appearance of pore size,” says Dija Ayodele, aesthetician and founder of the Black Skin Directory.
Sweet Almond Oil comes in two different forms, bitter and sweet. Bitter Almond is known for its scent and helpful when you use it on your skin. However it’s also massive poisonous so should never be consumed. Sweet Almond Oil however can be eaten and has been found to be the best oil to use on children’s skin. Including Vitamin E, A and fatty acids, it can be used to help reduce acne and protect your skin from free radicals.
Moringa Oil has been used for centuries for its natural protective properties, there’s some evidence that it has been used by both the Romans and Egyptians. Today you might find this still being used in perfumes. It contains 72% oleic acid which penetrates deep into your skin beings all of the necessary nutrients to it, helping to clear blackheads and spots. As well as working to avoid sagging skin and wrinkles.
Dr Debra Jaliaman says, “Moringa Oil is packed with vitamins A, B and C. It stacks up against other popular oils since it has many therapeutic properties. It’s an antioxidant and has antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a good exfoliant as well as an emollient too,”
How do I use it?
A little goes a long way when it comes to our masks, you only need to use a pea sized amount. Make sure to warm it up a little between your fingers before applying it to your face, it just helps the oils absorb into your skin better.
Apply the cream to your décolleté and face, spreading it all over your skin with your fingertips. Use upwards motions until the product has partially absorbed into your skin.
Massage the product into your neck and face using sweeping motions on your neck and small circular motions on your face.
Leave the product to sink into your skin and take three deep breaths through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Tip: Gently tilt your head backwards and hold this position for three seconds. This movement will help to lengthen and stretch your neck muscles.
